Folks are coming out of the woodwork to attend Saturday’s Roast of Grey Fox, benefitting Pride St. Louis. You may not think Grey Fox has much woodwork to speak of, but somewhere, buried under layers of paint, dust, and mildew, lies knotty pine paneling, according to Foxx.

“I can’t remember the actual year, maybe 2001, but Miss Tracy was hosting the shows there,” Foxx recalls. “I do remember there was a bar in the cabaret and the whole place was paneled in knotty pine. Looking more like your aunt’s mid-century modern living room than a gay bar. It was known more as a watering hole for the hustlers who used to stroll South Grand and their patrons than a drag bar…but thank god the Grey Fox lost its knotty pine to black semi-gloss! Just don’t look up. The amount of dust-caked wiring proves that the fire marshals are paid off!”
For many years, Foxx was a mainstay on every stage in St. Louis, known for her glamourous wardrobe, attention to every detail and a happy-go-lucky personality. Winner of Missouri and Midwest EOY, Miss Gay St. Louis, and Miss Gay Missouri America, to name a few, she was always a friendly face and, according to the late Patrina Marie, “Erica would show up to the opening of an envelope!”
This will mark Foxx’s fist time on the legendary Grey Fox stage since 2016. Tickets can be purchased here.
