The Cabaret Project of St. Louis and Max & Louie Productions present the legendary Marilyn Maye on Wednesday, November 19, at 7 pm at The Sheldon Concert Hall. Marilyn Maye was called a “Super-Singer” by Johnny Carson himself and appeared on The Tonight Show 76 times – a show record for singers! 2025 marks the centennial of Carson’s birth, and Marilyn returns to St. Louis for a don’t-miss-one-night-only musical tribute to her years singing
for Johnny.
Maye has had audiences on their feet for nine decades, and there simply is no singer of her stature performing today. She regularly sells out venues all around the country and in New York -including her 2023 sold out triumph at Carnegie Hall! This spectacular evening will feature songs she sang on Carson’s Tonight Show along with vintage video clips of Marilyn and Johnny during her many appearances with him.
“I just saw Marilyn perform in Provincetown in late August this year and she was better than ever! There seems to be no stopping this brilliant woman who is at the top of her game- and also a long time St. Louis favorite,” says Tim Schall, Executive Director of The Cabaret Project of St. Louis. “Her 76 appearances with Johnny Carson on The Tonight Show deserve to be celebrated in a musical tribute that only Marilyn can offer. To co-produce this for St. Louis audiences with Max & Louie Productions, one of our town’s finest theater companies, is the cherry on top of the cake!”
