Each intersection has its own tribe and flavor at Soulard Mardi Gras. Russell and Menard stands out as “the Sequin Circuit” because of all of the outlandish costumes and performers. The Hi-Hat Stage was worthy of that moniker, featuring dazzling entertainment all day. The Belles of Bevo performed for thousands of enthusiastic revelers, followed later in the afternoon by DesirĂ© Declyne. The “Mad Beader of Mardi Gras,” Auntie M, engaged with the crowd, and the Krewe of the Lustful Lushes tossed premium beads from the upper windows, and held contests between sets.
