A beloved pet can be a source of comfort and connection—and the costs of food and veterinary care can become difficult to manage. On Saturday, Oct. 24, St. Louisans can help ease that burden at Art of PAWS & People, Vivent Health’s annual fundraiser supporting people living with HIV and the pets they love.
Presented by Purina, the event runs from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Gatsby Ballroom STL at The Alverne, 1014 Locust St. Guests can enjoy original art up for auction, hors d’oeuvres from Fifth Wheel Catering and cocktails. Purina has supported the event for 23 years.
Proceeds benefit Vivent Health’s Pets Are Wonderful Support (PAWS) program, which helps people living with HIV keep their pets at home by providing assistance with pet food and veterinary care.
“When someone is navigating the costs of daily life, a veterinary bill can feel impossible,” said Bob Walker, Vivent Health’s regional vice president of health center operations. “But their pet may also be the companion helping them get through a difficult time.”

Founded in 1990, PAWS is part of Vivent Health’s broader approach to care—one that recognizes the role daily needs, stability and connection play in well-being. The evening will also honor Jeff Noble and Soulard Art Gallery with the Daniel Flier Vivent Champion Award.
Art of PAWS & People carries forward a tradition of community support rooted in St. Louis Effort for AIDS, whose legacy continues through Vivent Health. Longtime supporters and first-time guests are invited to celebrate that work and help sustain care for local residents.
Art of PAWS & People takes place Saturday, Oct. 24, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Gatsby Ballroom STL at The Alverne, 1014 Locust St. Tickets and details are available at artofpawsandpeople.com.
