Stepping into a new chapter with Out In STL feels like coming home — but with a louder soundtrack and a much bigger dinner table and I’m thrilled to introduce myself.

I am Tai Davis, a proud creative, culinary enthusiast, and champion of vibrant, authentic voices. As a new member of the Out In STL Board of Directors, I’m deeply honored to help shape and uplift our city’s dynamic LGBTQ+ community — especially at a time when creativity, joy, and connection matter more than ever.

My passion has always been amplifying brilliance — whether through a bold recipe that nourishes the body and spirit, or a song that reminds you you’re not alone. That’s why I’m launching two new columns for the magazine: Echo and Nourish & Groove.

Echo: Empowering Community and Honoring Originality is my love letter to LGBTQ+ creatives. Through interviews, profiles, and behind-the-scenes moments, Echo will celebrate the artists, chefs, designers, and visionaries who are crafting the future — right here, right now. It’s about resonance: the creative ripples we send out when we live authentically and inspire others to do the same.

Then there’s Nourish & Groove— a column that brings together my two favorite forms of self-care: good food and good music. In each installment, you’ll find elevated yet approachable recipes designed to feed your body, along with curated playlists to feed your soul. Think: Sunday morning with a smoothie bowl and a soul-funk revival soundtrack. Wellness doesn’t have to be boring — it can taste delicious, sound amazing, and move you to dance (even if it’s just in your kitchen).

Both columns are rooted in one belief: that thriving is an act of resistance and joy is a renewable resource. I’m here to spotlight the power of queer creativity, the healing magic of gathering around food and music, and the beautiful ways we all nourish and inspire each other.

Joining Out In STL is not just an opportunity — it’s a promise. A promise to celebrate our community’s brilliance, to honor its originality, and to help build a world where everyone’s echo is heard loud, proud, and clear.

I can’t wait to dive in, dance through it, and savor every story. Let’s nourish. Let’s groove. And let’s keep the echoes rolling.
