St. Louis Black Pride Weekend Canceled

(St. Louis, MO) April 13, 2020 – With growing uncertainty around COVID-19 pandemic, St. Louis Black Pride Board of Directors has made the decision to cancel 2020 St. Louis Black Pride weekend August 14-16, 2020.

This decision has been incredibly difficult for us to make but the health and safety of our community and all those who celebrate with us, remains our top priority.

However, we will hold our 25th St. Louis Black Pride Celebration on August 21, 2021. This will allow the Board of Directors, committee members, and volunteers ample time to plan, fundraise, garner sponsorships, and truly make our 25th Black Pride Celebration one for the record books.

We are heartbroken for our amazing vendors, sponsors, small business and community partners who help us make St. Louis Black Pride successful each year, on top of the thousands of visitors who come from across the region to celebrate with us. Board members, committee members and volunteers have already spent countless hours planning for this year’s Black Pride celebration and we are eternally grateful for their dedication and continued hard work.

While the St. Louis Black Pride Weekend is one weekend of the year, St. Louis Black Pride is a year-round movement. Let’s continue the movement even in these difficult and trying times. Engage, Educate and Empower is our goal for the St. Louis Black LGBTQIA+ community.

About St. Louis Black Pride: The mission of The St. Louis Black Gay and Lesbian Pride Committee is to serve as a resource for the St. Louis Metropolitan Black and underserved Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender community while being a catalyst for unity and empowerment and pride.
