Braxton brings with her a deep and meaningful history of working within the Pride movement, particularly at the regional and community level. Over the years, she has collaborated closely with Pride organizations, advocates, and volunteers to help foster environments that celebrate LGBTQIA+ identities while prioritizing safety, accessibility, and representation. Her work has been shaped by a strong belief in the power of local Pride organizations to create lasting change within their communities.
Her election reflects both her leadership experience and the trust placed in her by Pride organizations nationwide. “I’m extremely honored to have been elected to help lead this amazing organization and the Pride Movement in the U.S. and its territories,” Braxton said. “I look forward to working with the board and our member organizations to successfully create safe, accessible, and inclusive spaces within their communities. I couldn’t have done this without the love, support, and encouragement of all the Pride organizations in the St. Louis region.”
As Co-President, Braxton will help guide USAP’s strategic direction while supporting a diverse network of Pride organizations navigating both celebration and advocacy in an evolving social and political landscape. Her election signals a continued commitment to collaboration, community empowerment, and the enduring legacy of the LGBTQIA+ Pride Movement.
