Eron Mazza: Queer Joy is Magic!

Let me be clear: Queer joy isn’t just a vibe—it’s a full-blown magical working. A spell. A hex against hopelessness. It is a monkey wrench tossed into the gears of A system that says we aren’t allowed to exist, let alone find joy in this life.

We live in a system of oppression that would rather see us miserable, marketable, or missing. And yet—here we are. Laughing too loudly and wearing the crop top anyway and falling in love in public. We are coming into the power of realization. We are realizing who we are and the power we hold. That’s magic, babe. That’s resistance. And it’s holy.

Now let’s be real: this isn’t about bypassing pain. We’ve all got our share of trauma, and the world hasn’t exactly gone soft on us. But if all we ever do is survive, we’re letting oppression shrink our spirits. Joy is how we reclaim our wholeness. Joy is how we come back into our bodies, back into community, back into enchantment. Back to our true power.

And joy doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful. Sometimes it’s subtle. Sometimes it’s weird. Sometimes it’s wearing the article of clothing to the grocery store that you know will attract attention. It’s putting on your favorite playlist and twerking in front of your mirror. It’s resting like your life depends on it—because spoiler: it does.

In witchcraft and spiritual practice, joy isn’t fluff—it’s fuel. It’s the sign your soul is in alignment. It’s your nervous system saying, “Hey, I feel safe enough to celebrate.” Its presence. It’s power. It’s the sacred art of not letting the assholes win.

So if the world is trying to grind you down, I’m here to say: light the damn candle. Wear the thing. Text your friend the meme that made you cackle. Do one small thing today that makes your spirit feel charged again. Not because everything is perfect, but because joy is how we make it through.

Queer joy is not a luxury. It’s not selfish. It’s not a distraction. It’s medicine. It’s magic. It’s a middle finger to every system that told us to stay small.

So laugh. Dance. Rest. Makeout with someone at the bar. Dress like your soul just got a promotion. And remember: every time you choose joy, you cast a spell that ripples through this broken world—and helps heal it.

Stay loud. Stay weird. Stay enchanted.
