An attorney with the Wagner Law Group, focusing on employee benefits law, executive compensation, and taxation, Dannae Delano wasn’t known for publicly weighing in on hot-button issues. That all changed a year ago.

“When Trump was first elected, I was so angry. I believed the best in people, and I was angry that he capitalized on pointing out differences and people’s fear of those who were different, and got elected because of it. I decided I could no longer keep my opinions to myself.”
When she heard that Chris Andoe had purchased Out In STL for a single dollar to preserve it as a community asset, she didn’t hesitate to get involved. Drawing on her experience in governance and nonprofit work, she offered to help establish a nonprofit to secure the publication’s future. Today, she proudly serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for Out In STL.
Dannae has spent more than two decades giving back to the community through nonprofit leadership. She has served on boards including Family Support Council, Family Resources, Therasim Advocates, Urb Arts, Safe Connections, and now Out In STL, contributing her skills in HR, fundraising, event planning, and finance. Her volunteer work is all pro bono, a reflection of her family’s commitment to service and human rights.
Her leadership has earned her recognition from the St. Louis Business Journal’s “30 Under 30” (2004) and “40 Under 40” (2013), and she is a proud graduate of Focus St. Louis’ Leadership St. Louis program (Class of 2008–2009).
Most important to Dannae is her role as mom to her sons, Will and Ian, both college students in St. Louis. Will joins her on the Out In STL Board, continuing the family tradition of community service. Outside of work, Dannae is a passionate foodie, loves to cook, and says that music is her “church.” She credits her success to her family “team”—sons Will and Ian, and her husband Craig, a musician she lovingly calls her “rock star.”
